It took me a little while to figure this sketch out. There are a lot of layers going on. But I think my layout came out super cute.
Yay!!! I have finished the opener pages for the Week in the Life project. I will now be starting the observations pages. There will be 2-3 layouts for each day.

No Bones About It...

It's Christmas!!!
I have started working on my Christmas Layout from 2010. Ebony and Kahlua usually get bones as their Christmas presents. Ebony takes off running with hers and gets started right away on chewing it up. Kahlua has to figure out what to do with hers, even though she has had this type of bone before. After watching Ebony for a few seconds, she figures it out and then chews it up as well.
This layout was inspired by a Close to My Heart Sketch in one of their new books. I really enjoyed using their sketches because it was clean and simple.

Simply Scrapping Crafts - Color Combo Challenge

Hey Everyone!

This Week was my week to choose a color combo for the challenge over at Simply Scrapping Crafts.
I choose this color combo

I used pictures from my mom's birthday this past Janurary. For her birthday we went to Olive Garden for lunch. We had Publix Raspberry Elegance cake for the desert. Yumo!
I was able to get my mom 5 cricut cartiages for her birthday.

I used Accent Essentials Cricut Cartiage for the swirl on the left side. The ribbon on the right side is a hand made Bravissimo. I saw these at Michaels and thought I could make my own. I think it came out great.

National Scrapbooking Day ~ Blog Hop

Welcome!
Today is National Scrapbooking Day.
But did you also know that today in
  • 1824 Beethoven’s 9th Symphony premiered in Vienna.
  • 1915 The British ocean liner Lusitania was sunk by a German submarine in World War I off the coast of Ireland.
  • 1994 Edvard Mmunch’s painting, The Scream was recovered a few months after it had been stolen
Now that I have shared some history with you let us get back to the blog hop.
We're celebrating National Scrapbooking Day at "Let's Get Peachy!"
The Peachy Kat's have created some special projects and posted them on our blogs.
All of us are looking forward to your visit and hope that our projects both delight and inspire you!

Check out Paper Phenomenon for some great instructions on how to create this great shadow box. She has ustream classes often on how to create all of her wonderful projects.

This shadow box is one of my favorite things that she has made.

Her original idea was for a Halloween shadow box, which I made

I loved it so much that I made a Fall theme one as well.

I made this Easter/Spring theme one recently for a secret sister swap.
So even though Easter is over, you can use this idea for any holiday/season.

The best part of this project is that everything was bought at the dollar store, Target dollar spot or Hobby Lobby. I did not spend more than a dollar for each item. Which makes this project super cheap.

1- 12x12 sheet of chipboard

5 sheets of cardstock (this will be the base of the shadow box)
Coordinating pattern paper in your season
3 yards of fiber
Various Embellishments for the 12 interior boxes.

Cut Cardstock
6 - 8x5
4 - 5x5
4 - 12x7/8

Cut pattern paper
4 mats – 2 7/8 x 2 7/8
6 mats – 5 7/8 x 2 7/8
Here are some of the supplies I used to make this shadow box. Search for fun items to use on your project.

All you need to do is become a follower and leave a comment about 3 things that you plan to do on National Scrapbooking Day!  But there is a twist! That is what makes the blog hops fun. One of the things you do on National Scrapbooking Day has to follow the alphabet.
The first person starts with A (I am going to use alphabet stickers today) and the next person uses B (I am going to use buttons today) and so on. If you get to the end of the alphabet, then start over. Please only one entry per person. I will use random.org to select a winner.

Entries are due by 8pm on May 9th. The winner will be posted on May 10th

This is your Blog Hop itinerary. Please proceed to Tammy's blog;

Simply Scrapping Crafts - Cricut Corner - Flip

Hey everyone,
Check out what is going on this week over at Simply Scrapping Crafts - Cricut Corner.
We are almost through the basics and showing everyone about the different functions on the cricut.

This week we are going to be going over ‘Flip.’
The video below will give you some pointers in regards to the flip feature.
Thanks to Hobby Mommy Creations for creating the video.

There are two great reasons to use the flip feature. First being the obvious, when your image does not go in the direction you would like. The second is making a card. That is what I did this week for you guys.

Did you know that May 1-7 is Be kind to animals week.

So you challenge this week is to use the flip feature to create something with an animal.

So head over to Simply Scrapping Crafts - Cricut Corner to see all the details on how to make this card.
