I have started working on my Week in the Life pictures. In Sept 2010 I decided to use Ali Edwards week in the life album to document my journey though my week in the life. I used her idea as a jumping off point and over the next few weeks/months (not sure how long it is going to take) I am going to put this album together.

Luckily I have the sketches over at SSC to help with inspiration.

So her is the first layout for the album. I started my week on Saturday. This is me at Kate's house scrapbooking. That is a good way to start the week.

The first day layout will contain 3 things I am grateful for.
That day it happen to be:
For a husband who understands my obsession with scrapbooking and accepts me for who I am
Two of the greatest dogs - Ebony and Kahlua
Scrapbook friends who laugh until my side hurts! What had happen was....

The sketch was great for these two pictures of Ebony on the bed. I went into the guest room to fold the clothes and there she was, as usual, sleeping on the clothes. This time her head was under the pillow. I had opened the blinds early in the day, so the room was very bright.

Secret Sister Swap

Hey Everyone!
I am so excited to show you these things today. Recently I was in a Secret Sister Swap with a group of my scrapbook friends.

We had to create 3 items
Spring Item
Wall Décor to hang in the SS scraproom/space
Altered container

I was extremely happy with my 3 items. Cathy was my secret sister. She did such a great job on my items.

First item is the Spring Item. She made this reef in spring colors. I hung it on my scraproom door under the canvas I made.

For my Wall Décor, Cathy made this great banner with my name. I hung it under my window valence.

Altered Container – This is great! I LOVE the colors. Plus a bonus, it use to hold hot chocolate. It still has some of the smell in it. What could be better.

THANKS CATHY

Let's Get Peachy - April Challenge

Hey Everyone,

Hey Everyone,
When I learned of this month assignment, I know exactly which Cricut Cartridge I was going to use. I knew that I wanted to use ‘A Child’s Year.’ I got this cartridge mainly for the font. I did not really care for the images as I do not have children. I figured I might use some of them on the nephew’s pages as well. I love how this card came out. I cut the image and laid it on the card. Then sprayed glitter spray over it. I used a little bit of stickles to give it some details.

Thanks for looking and I hope this gives you inspiration.

This week we are showing:
Speed Dial - Controls the Cutting Speed of your Machine
Pressure Dial - Controls the Pressure or how hard the blade bears down on your material.
Dial Size: Controls the height of your image you are cutting.

I made this car from the billionaire cart. It is a lite cart from Wal-Mart. It is mainly a font cart but it has images from monopoly. I loved that game as a kid and I was always the car. I put the car on my display board in my craft room.

SSC Weekly Sketch Challenge

This weeks challenge was great! I love the flowers in this sketch but wanted to use another big element instead.
This layout is from Joe's birthday 2010. He got this game which is basically duck hunt on steroid. We had a blast shooting all of the animals.
I had a little trouble with the scope, since I can only wink with one of my eyes and not the other.

Let's Get Peachy Sketch

Hey Everyone,
Check out Let's Get Peachy!

I hope you have enjoyed your week so far. Hopefully you will have time this weekend to work on this sketch. I have to tell you that this sketch was a little difficult for me. I rarely use only one photo on a page and when I do, it is a 5x7 or larger. So I was a little worried how the layout would come out. However after I completed it, I really enjoy the white space that is left from the 4x6 photo.

These pictures are of my nephew. We were waiting for the fireworks to start 4th of July 2008. He loves being thrown in the air. He was giggling so much while I was doing this.

I stayed away from traditional July 4th supplies for two reasons. The first being I have a ton of pictures from the day that include other activities and second I wanted to show that even if you have pictures from a certain event, it did not need to be scrapbooked for that event.

Thanks for looking and I hope the sketch and my layout gives you inspiration.

White bazzil cardstock

There are weekly challenges! On Monday the Challenge is Cricut related.
This is the first week of the Challenge the goal for the group is to share all the amazing things you can make with your Cricut machines.  We also will be going over the different fuctions of the Cricut machines, using different materials to cut in the machine and much, much more!

 This week's challenge:
For our very first Cricut Corner Challenge we want everyone to feel right at home here!  No matter what your current level is as for experience with your Cricut machine, please join us this week!
The challenge this week is to cut two images and/or shapes, phrases, etc. with your Cricut machine.  Use these two images and create something wonderful with them. You can make a card, do a layout, a sign, alter an item, or just make anything that you know you will have FUN creating!   If you want to use more than two cricut images, feel free to do so.  If you want to use your favorite cricut images, we would love to see them on your design! That is the first part to the challenge.  The second and final part of this week's challenge is that once you have completed your design for this week's entry, invite a friend who is not a member here to join the Cricut Corner Group!  We would love to have them here with us!

Here is my take on the challenge:

Let's Get Peachy

Check out the Let's Get Peachy Blog!

Here is some info that I was asked to complete about me for the blog.

Hi, My name is Lisa and I live in Central FL. I have been scrapbooking since 2004. I enjoy paper crafting, mainly 2-page layouts. But toss it up every once in a while with a card or alter project.

1. Tell Me something about yourself that makes you a "Peachy Kat"?
So I looked up the definition of Peach and two things stuck out at me. First the Informal definition is ‘a person or thing that is especially attractive, liked, or enjoyed.’ I try to strive to be the person that is liked by all. I enjoy having a good time and want others around me to have a good time as well. I also can put this into my scrapbooking pages because I want them to be a ‘Peach’ because I want them to be attractive, liked, and enjoyed. The second thing that stuck out at me was a light pinkish yellow. My favorite color being pink, it fits right into the definition.

2. Does your name have a special meaning for someone or something?
No special meaning in my first name, my mom just liked it. My middle name however, does have special meaning. I was born at home and my mom had a mid wife. She told my mom to give me her name and she would give her a discount on the birth. So they both agreed on my middle name being 'Inez'

3. Do you have a signature scrapping style?
I believe my scrapping style is very simple. I usually tend to follow sketches or scraplift, with my own twist. I want my scrapping time to be enjoyable and not something that I stress over. My goal is to get the photos in a safe place and have fun while doing that.

4. What is your favorite color?
Pink

5. What do YOU think is your greatest attribute?
Listening. I am able to realize when someone needs an ear and when someone wants advice. I think sometimes you just need to vent. You are not looking for advice or opinion. You just want to talk about what happened. Then there are times when you are talking because you have no idea where to go or what to do. I think that I am able to figure out which one is needed while listening and then able to respond accordingly.

6. What is your favorite dinner food and /or place to eat?
For a quick dinner I love ‘Five Guys’ they really do have the best burgers. We tend to eat at home most night and I enjoy homemade Mexican. My favorite home cooked meal in chicken enchiladas and yellow rice.

7. How long have you been scrapping?
I have been scrapbooking since 2004. However did enjoy the ‘wrong’ way to scrap throughout high school.

8. Are you married/in a relationship? If, so how long?
I have been married since October 2006. Joe and I have been together since 2002.

9. How do you think your scrappy style has changed since you started or has it?
Boy has it changed. I remember thinking when I first started scrapbooking, ‘Why would anyone buy that plain paper (cardstock) when they can buy the pretty paper (patterned paper). I also use to only use patterned paper as my background and just put the pictures on, no mats. Plus I used only 4x6 photos. Now I am open to trying new techniques. I can never have enough cardstock and I use wallet size and 5x7 size photos along with my 4x6.

10. Do you have kids, if so give details, please?
No kids. My husband and I have decided that we don’t want children. (he says this will change when I turn 30. (Which is next year) However we have two dogs that are just like our children.
Ebony is a lab mix, she is 7 years old. She is starting to show signs of getting old, which I am not willing to accept just yet. She is very sneaky in that she will convince us that she ‘needs’ to go out, so her sister will go outside and then steal her sister’s raw hide.
Kahlua is a mix (we got her from the SPCA, not really sure what she is). She is 5 years old. She is a very protective dog. She loves her daddy and tends to sleep in ‘my spot’ on the bed when I am not there. She is a ‘special’ dog. As in, we think she is not all there in the brain. She stares into space for long periods of time and she will not jump on the couch if there is anything on the couch.

As you can see, we love them like they were our children.

11. Where are you from? Where do you live now?
I am from Polk County, FL. I currently live in Fern Park, FL. This is just north of Orlando. I am a true Floridian, born and raised. My whole family lives in Polk County, FL and I was the odd ball out when I left.  I went to Florida State University. I have never lived outside of FL.

12 .Do you have other crafty loves besides scrapbooking?
Scrapbooking is my only crafty love. I have tried other things like sewing and knitting, but they never stuck.

13.What is your favorite TV show?
I can only pick one!!!! I love to watch Fringe, Southland, CSI and Modern Family with my husband. I also love to watch 19 kids and counting, Harry’s Law, Parenthood, 90210 and Secret Life of an American Teenager.

14. Do you only scrap LOs, Cards, altered projects, etc or all or just some?
Up until a year ago, I was only a 2-page LO girl. I have recently started doing cards and projects. I have really enjoyed being able to have different creative outlets, if I don’t want to work on my pictures.

15. When was the last time you cried & if you want to tell, why?
The last time I was really upset was when I did not get a job that I really wanted. It hurt so much because I had 3 interviews and it was almost a 4 month process. I really thought I ‘had’ the job. However a friend got the job instead and I now realize that it was for the best, because she calls me almost daily to complain about it.
I tend to ‘cry’ when I laugh. My eyes get watery whenever I laugh, no matter how small my laugh is. I tell you this as a warning.

16. Do the rooms in your house have themes, what kind?
My scrapbook room is painted pink, with bright blue and green accents and an owl theme. My kitchen has an Asian theme. The hall bathroom has a beach theme. The house is painted a natural cream color and everything is accented in black. Meaning all my picture frames are black.

17. What is your favorite scrapping tool?
Wow!!! That is a tough one. I would have to say my cricut is a big part of my scrapping area. I use it on most of my projects. I stopped buying a lot of accents. Letter stickers and stickers in general, as I can just make what is needed for my page.

18. Do you collect anything?
I do not collect anything. I have a few clean style as in I don’t like a lot of clutter. So any collection would not go with that. I have a slight case of OCD, but not really willing to admit that just yet.

19. What is your favorite Movie?
All time favorite movie is Save the Last Dance. However the movies in my scrap oom that I watch over and over are: Fun with Dick and Jane, Day after tomorrow, Accepted and Coyote Ugly.

20. Do you have a favorite(s) Scrappy line that you use frequently or want to try out?
I tend to go for the bright colors and fun lines, more than a particular line. I do enjoy ‘My Little Shoe Box and Imaginisce.

I'm A Peachy Kat

I am so happy to be joining the Let’s Get Peachy Blog ~ Design Team!
I just wanted to share a few things about me.

I got the nickname ‘LisaB’ from my scrapbooking friends. There were two Lisa’s in the group at that time. The name stuck, even if there isn’t another Lisa for miles around.

I am the first Sketch To Life Kat for Let’s Get Peachy Blog. I liked this name because I feel like I would be bringing life to Groovy Deb’s sketches.

I enjoy scrapbooking and spend at least 2-3 weekends a month cropping with my scrapbooking friends.

I sing in my car, really loud and off key.

I treat my dogs like my kids.

This layout came together very easily. I have learned to use products that is ‘me.’ When I do, the layout comes together very quickly. This picture was recently taken when I went to a weekend retreat at Scrapbook Creation in South Carolina. I wanted to have a few shots of me, since I am usually the one behind the camera.

Thanks for Looking and I hope you enjoy my projects!!!
