Welcome!
Today is National Scrapbooking Day.
But did you also know that today in
- 1824 Beethoven’s 9th Symphony premiered in Vienna.
- 1915 The British ocean liner Lusitania was sunk by a German submarine in World War I off the coast of Ireland.
- 1994 Edvard Mmunch’s painting, The Scream was recovered a few months after it had been stolen
Now that I have shared some history with you let us get back to the blog hop.
The Peachy Kat's have created some special projects and posted them on our blogs.
All of us are looking forward to your visit and hope that our projects both delight and inspire you!
Check out Paper Phenomenon for some great instructions on how to create this great shadow box. She has ustream classes often on how to create all of her wonderful projects.
This shadow box is one of my favorite things that she has made.
Her original idea was for a Halloween shadow box, which I made
I loved it so much that I made a Fall theme one as well.
I made this Easter/Spring theme one recently for a secret sister swap.
So even though Easter is over, you can use this idea for any holiday/season.
The best part of this project is that everything was bought at the dollar store, Target dollar spot or Hobby Lobby. I did not spend more than a dollar for each item. Which makes this project super cheap.
1- 12x12 sheet of chipboard
5 sheets of cardstock (this will be the base of the shadow box)
Coordinating pattern paper in your season
3 yards of fiber
Various Embellishments for the 12 interior boxes.
Cut Cardstock
6 - 8x5
4 - 5x5
4 - 12x7/8
Cut pattern paper
4 mats – 2 7/8 x 2 7/8
6 mats – 5 7/8 x 2 7/8
Here are some of the supplies I used to make this shadow box. Search for fun items to use on your project.

All you need to do is become a follower and leave a comment about 3 things that you plan to do on National Scrapbooking Day! But there is a twist! That is what makes the blog hops fun. One of the things you do on National Scrapbooking Day has to follow the alphabet.
The first person starts with A (I am going to use alphabet stickers today) and the next person uses B (I am going to use buttons today) and so on. If you get to the end of the alphabet, then start over. Please only one entry per person. I will use random.org to select a winner.
Entries are due by 8pm on May 9th. The winner will be posted on May 10th
