Glass Block

Hey Everyone,
Check out The Bugbytes for my monthly post.

This month I wanted to share an easy project. I did a Christmas design but you can use this for a birthday party or even a nightlight for your children.

Start with a glass block. I got mine at Hobby Lobby. This is the small of the 2 they sale.

I used Armour Etch to give the glass a frosted look. I etched both sides.

Not sure if this picture does it justice but it has a nice frosted look

I then cut out my saying with vinyl. I peeled off the top layer, leaving the saying on the backing.

I use contact paper as my transfer tape to add it to the glass block.

I put small mini lights in the bottom of the glass block.

Here it is all lit up.

I tried to get a good picture with it the lights off

I hope I was able to inspire you today! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the Bugbytes
Until next time!

Cocoa Beach

This year (2012) Joe and I decided to do a staycation. We spent most of the week at home relaxing. We did an overnight trip to Cocoa Beach. It was nice to spend a full day at the beach. The hotel had a pool and hot tube that we enjoyed after dinner.

Love the sketches at Got Sketch?

Red Hot and Boom

July 3rd is when Altamonte Springs celebrates the 4th of July. They have a big celebration at Cranes Roost.  In 2011 Joe and I went to see Transformers: Dark of the Moon afterwards we walked around. I tried my first fried Oreo. Then we watched the fireworks

Sports Themed Name Plate

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to share another sports themed name plate I completed. I love the silhouettes that I used in this one.

Tina's Birthday!!

Hey Everyone!
This year several of my friends are turning 30, myself included!!!
For Tina's Birthday we went to Kobe's Steakhouse.

Family Subway Art

Hey Everyone!
Along with the children's name plates, that I have been making. I have decided to start making subway art as well. This one is a family subway art. It includes the family's name, when the parents were married, where the family lives and the names of everyone in the family. I plan to make them in 2 sizes 11x14 and 16x20. Let me know if you would like to buy one.

This one shows the size difference between 11x14 and 16x20

My Craft Room is now all OttLite

Hey Everyone,
I was so excited to learn that OttLite made regular light bulbs.
Joann's had a sale about a week ago, so I got 4 light bulbs for my scrapbook room. 3 for the ceiling fan and one for my free standing lamp.

I cant believe the difference!!!!!
These pictures are straight out of my camera, no flash or editing used.

Water Bottles

Hey Everyone!!!!

Another item for my nephew's birthday party.
Water Bottle are really popular right now. I made 15 of them for the party (5 of each design)
Great Idea for party favors.

I hope I was able to inspire you today!

50's Prime Time Cafe

Hey Everyone,
When I saw this Echo park Hello Summer Collection, I knew it was just something I had to have. The ladies over at My Scraps and More are great! They always have great sales and super fast shipping. So I was able to get my hands on this paper collection very quickly!!!!

On this trip to Disney, we ate at the 50s Prime Time Cafe
where they serve classic American Comfort Food in a TV-themed setting.

Be welcomed into Mom's family and feel at home in her kitchenette. But Mom expects you to mind your manners, so don't be surprised if she tells you to keep your elbows off the table. It's all part of the old-fashioned fun and gentle ribbing that's served up along with the food.

After drinking my first glass of water very quickly the waiter brought me 4 more glasses and while throwing the straws at me, he said 'here you go camel!" At the end of the meal the waiter brought me a map and he circled all of the bathrooms in the park with a little note saying bed wetters guide!!!

What a great lunch!!!!

Surfer Boy

Hey Everyone!
My nephew loved the boogie board but only wanted to play with it at the edge of the water.

Heading Home

Hey Everyone!
This layout is from my trip to South Caroline in February 2011.
We had such a great time but the road trip back was too long!

Barn Treat Box using Silhouette Cameo

Today is my day to post on the The Bugbytes!

Today I wanted to show you a treat box that I made for my nephew's up coming birthday party. It is a farm theme. I went to Silhouette Online Store and looked for a barn box, with no luck.

Then I saw this box and thought that maybe I could make a barn out of it.
So I looked for a barn that I could use and found this image.

After purchasing both images I opened them in the Silhouette Studio program. When I opened the box I rotated it a little to make the most of my 12x12 paper. This image will be cut in red.

Next I opened the barn. I do not need all the pieces included...

I deleted the pieces that I did not need.

I made the barn pieces small enough to be close to the size that I think I needed. Moved both pieces together. Then zoomed way in and adjusted the size of the pieces to fit on the side of the box.

This is just the pieces filled in with color so you can get idea of which ones to group together to cut out.

Then just group the same colors together and cut out the pieces.

 The finished box!!!

I hope I was able to inspire you today!
Until next time!

Football Name Plate

Hey Everyone,
Another name plate to share with you. I used my new cameo on this one and love all the new fonts that I now have access to with the cameo.

Independence Day ~ 2011

Hey Everyone! Since today is the 4th of July and we really didn't do any of the normal 4th of July celebrations I thought I would scrap pictures from last year.
Then I saw this layout on Out on A Limb Scrapbooking Facebook page.
I knew it would be perfect for my pictures.
Out On A Limb always has great inspiration.

As you know I got my Silhouette Cameo yesterday so I wanted to play around with cuts from the Silhouette Store.
The Independence Day, Star and Journaling block are all from the store.

Cameo FINALLY arrived!!

I ordered my cameo on May 27, 2012.
After 38 days of waiting (it was on backlog)... It is here!

Right out of the box, I had to decorate it!

Clock

I got this kit from Hobby Lobby. It came with a 12x12 canvas and this clock set.

After inking up the edges to give this white canvas a little pop...

I decorated it with simple images cut from elegant edges cricut cart.

I hope I was able to inspire you today! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the Bugbytes
Until next time!

Hunger Games Board

Hey Everyone,
It is that time again for my posting at The BugBytes.

Last month I showed you guys a key chain I made for the Hunger Games. Well I was searching online for Hunger Game Party Ideas for a friend who is putting together the party for her daughter. I cam across this blanket and thought I could do this in a poster style.

I used both the Cricut and the Cameo to come up with my own style of this blanket. I love how it turned out.
